Tarot Tuesday

You’ve probably heard the saying, “You are a soul having a human experience.” What does that mean?
It means you an eternal being, made of Source energy, and you chose human form to experience the physical manifestation of the Universe.
Sounds good, right? So if we’re made of Source (Divine) energy, why does it feel so icky here at times? Why would we leave the blissful state of the Divine to muck around on Earth with so much pain, grief, and sorrow?
Even souls have to grow and learn, and the classrooms for that type of expansion are only available to those in form. Hence, we choose the specific time, birth family, and situation for our birth and arrive with a plan. Unfortunately, once we arrive, our human selves don’t always follow the plan, or choose another path of learning.
And although you don’t have conscious memory of the plan or your eternal nature, you do have inclinations to guide you—those little nudges and whispers from your soul that are meant to help you choose the right path. The difficulty feeling, hearing, and following those nudges is created via your social conditioning: the “shoulds and should nots” decreed by your parents, teachers, society, and authority figures.
We take in beliefs and belief systems through our third eye, or sixth chakra, located between the brows. Most of it arrives in the form of education/socialization, beginning at birth. It’s what we absorb via our experiences. That’s the Earthly part of our existence.
But our third eye has a back side too. Yes, you do have eyes in the back of your head…figuratively speaking anyway. Inspiration, creativity, and “right thinking” comes in through the back of your third eye as well as through your crown chakra. And that’s your connection to the Divine, or Higher Self.
Confusion, despair, and doubt can result when our rear vision is blocked or clouded by too much coming in the front side in the form of education, media, and social media. We can become overwhelmed with the ideas or viewpoints of others. Since we’ve been conditioned to listen and conform, the innate, inborn talents and gifts we have to discern and reason can be overshadowed.
And that’s what today’s card is all about: Learning to be in this world, but not of it. Finding the balance you need to live in this world as who you came here to be.
Learning the lessons you came to learn, and living your divine purpose according to your soul’s guidance rather than what the outside world defines as your place or responsibility.
Learning to say Yes to your heart and No to the outside voices. Finding the courage within to stand up and assert your independence of thought and action for the betterment of all.
For many of us, that may require some unlearning or relearning of deep-seated beliefs that were installed, probably without our permission or conscious awareness. But if you feel as little as a stirring—or as much as an explosion—brewing within, it means your soul is trying to help put you on the path you came to travel.
I’ve lit the candle of the 6th Chakra and the fragrance of frankincense and myrrh fills the air as I write. The quartz crystal is positioned to bring clarity and soothe disturbances of the mind.
The rest is up to you. What is one small step you can take on your true path today?
Would you like some help accessing your intuitive guidance? I have upcoming Tarot-reading events scheduled for August and October in the Asheville area. If you’d like a personal reading before then, consider booking a Zoom reading. For a few extra dollars, you’ll get twice as much time and won’t have to leave the comfort of your home.
Until next time… my best, Shelley
