The Light Seer’s Tarot cards and artwork by Chris-Anne. Red Jasper helps you rest and Tiger’s Eye projects your essence. Lavender Healing Reiki candle oversees it all.

I wasn’t planning a reading or a post today, but the moon called to me last night, and this morning I was led to pick up the cards and do a spread for the collective. Technically, the January Wolf Moon is today at 3:21pm EST and sets tomorrow morning at 7:26am EST, but this is what I saw from my terrace at 5:56pm and 8:59pm last night:

The reading is the perfect message for a new year. Here’s what the cards have to say:

4 of Swords: This is a time for deep rest and transmutation and an opportunity to heal from burnout. How you slow down is up to you; my recommendations include journaling, meditation, walks in nature, and unedited daydreaming. Silence and mental willingness during this period are the key factors to receiving inspiration and direction.

6 of Wands: An appropriate follow up. This card indicates that you will emerge from your time of introspection in a big way! Whatever you were gestating during your time of rebirth will burst forth full strength. This card brings the potential for bigtime success, accomplishments, leadership, and even fame—whatever any of those words mean to you. And it’s just around the corner.

Shelley Writes is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.

I’ve added the lavender Reiki candle to soothe the transition, red jasper to support your grounded rest (root chakra), and tiger’s eye to boost your power of showing up in the world (solar plexus chakra).

May 2023 be your best year yet.

My best, Shelley

I am headed to the beach tomorrow. That should work well as a slow down, take some time for self care. I am grateful to be visiting with a friend there.
