Thank you dear Shelley. This is exactly where I am. I know full well the need to advocate for my own cancer care. Once again I am reminded that other nurses and physicians don't follow my thought processes when addressing problems. I always take a concern to the end with thoughtful and intentional conversation along the way. Yesterday while at the Cancer Center receiving extra fluids I tried my best to teach a nurse to take additional steps and reach out to the doctor. I am not sure what stopped her, maybe fear. But in the end I had to make the decision to hold the next chemo until further discussion. My body was telling me it was not tolerating what was given last Tuesday.
