I'm away again, this time visiting my family in Florida. Yeah, I know. Florida in August?
I was planning to wait until December, but then I got this video created solo by my 4-year-old grandson. I can tell he did it on his own because the vast majority of the time, he was leaning over the phone camera, so mostly I saw his tonsils. Nonetheless, the message was loud and clear: "Grandma, I miss you."
Ten minutes later, flights were booked and a return video was sent: "Grandma's coming!"
To make sure I get to spend as much time as I can with him and his big sister, I've put together a little exercise for us to do instead of a post this week. This way, we all get a break :)
Last week I shared my belief that time is on my side. But some things transcend time and are timeless, or at least seem so while we're engaged with them. Think about what that means for you. My list is below. Try to make it to 20 (I'm still working on my last few).
Things That Are Timeless for Me
Looking out the window
Conversations with people (sometimes I wish they weren't timeless)
My love for Joe (eternal)
Reading a good book
Walking in the woods
Trips to an art museum
Learning new things (makes me feel timeless)
Road trips
Good coffee
Fine tea
Ice cream, unfortunately, is NOT timeless
Watching my children, and now my grandchildren, grow and learn
Gratitude
Appreciation
Love
Respect
I'd love to know what is timeless for you. Please share your thoughts in the comments if that is comfortable for you.
